I ran the soundboard for them at a festival a couple of summers ago. They were a delight to work with and they sounded beautiful.

PRESS RELEASE: HOT SOUP is a Maryland-based female vocal trio consisting of Christina Muir, Jennifer Agner and Sue Trainor. The three blend their stylistically diverse musical talents to cook up HOT SOUP. They serve up a harmonious mix of folk and novelty songs, swing tunes, nostalgia and topical ballads that will tickle your pallet and warm your soul. Last August their latest recording "Soup Happens" was ranked 9th in frequency of airplay out of all albums played by folk and bluegrass DJs reporting to the FolkDJ Internet List. Per "Sing Out" Magazine: "Hot Soup's live shows sparkle. The trio brings a rare blend of spontaneity and intimacy to their performances, often developing hilarious exchanges among themselves and with the audience." Their musical diversity extends to their instrumentation - in addition to guitar, you might hear mountain dulcimer, banjo, ukulele, bass, accordion and a variety of percussion instruments. The focus, however, is always the sweet voices, trading lead vocals and capturing harmonies that raise goose bumps. All three are talented solo performers with recordings of their own. SUE TRAINOR is best known for satirical humor in her adult shows and imaginative musical play in her children's performances - she was named "Best New Artist for Young Children" by the Int'l Children's Music Web in 1999 and her children's' recordings have earned national awards. CHRISTINA MUIR, the daughter of Ann Mayo Muir (of Bok, Trickett and Muir), builds on her musical heritage with her elegant vocals and lyrical instrumentation, insightful contemporary songwriting and engaging presence." JENNIFER AGNER adds saucy soprano vocals to the blend. She favors swing and other tradition-based song styles and her proficiency on guitar, banjo and accordion adds extra spice to Hot Soup. Per Steve Allen of Hudson Valley (NY) Folk Guild: "Inspired program and marvelous harmonies. Something truly special happens when these extraordinary performers combine their voices and songs. A magical evening." Per Dave Humphreys of Two Way Street Coffeehouse, Chicago: "Entertaining, intelligent, zany. Our audience is already asking us when they'll return."

Harpgirl, thanks for doing what I was about to do. Sue, Christina, and Jennifer are three of the most talented ladies I've ever heard. Individually and collectively, their songwriting, singing and instrumentation is very strong and they are great entertainers as well as fine, fine musicians. If you get a chance, see them!

Seamus

Kendall - trust me on this. Have I ever lied to you?

My memory slipped a bit. I have heard of them, but, have never seen them in concert. I know Christina from knowing her mother. She is outstanding.
