Nothing to do with mass suicide cult of similar name.

Does anyone have midi or abc of this spiffing waltz from the Michael Cimino movie "Heaven's Gate"?

I think I have remembered the first part pretty well, but I'd love to make sure..

I've tried tracking it down elsewhere, but so far no joy

If you can help I'd be very grateful...

All I found was a sound file, Click Here, Real Audio or WinPlayer, scroll down and click on one. I guess you could just keep listening to it to see if you have it right. Sorry.

There's a really cool rendition on Arcady's first disc "After The Ball". They play it as a waltz and as a reel!

The movie was on TV this weekend and there was a scene where a chap plays (or appears to play) fiddle whilst roller skating around a dance hall and is then joined by lots of dancers, also on skates.

Does anyone know who the chap was and if it was him actually playing, and what the music for the scene was? It was very good.

The hauntingly beautiful Heavens Gate Waltz, also known as Ella's Waltz is a rearrangement by David Mansfield of Cajun King Doug Kershaws; Mamou Two Step.Mr Kershaw is a native of Louisiana and he plays 28 musical instruments.Thats David Mansfield roller skating
and playing fiddle in the Cimino film Heavens Gate 1980. It has
justly been included in the 100 greatest western themes of all time.
John Williams was first choice for the score but quit after a year or so for other work. Irishwoman Josie MacAvin, died in Monkstown,
Dublin 26th Jan 2005, was the set decorator. Mamou by the way is a town in Louisiana, 200 miles west of New Orleans. It is known as "the
