27 Apr 01 - 05:00 PM (#450694) Subject: Lyr Add: HAPPY GOOD MORNING BLUES (Bruce Cockburn) From: mousethief This is a musical nostalgia thread, of a sort. We all know that folk and blues music tend to swap around lyrics, whole verses, scraps of lines, and so forth. A line or a verse in one song might end up, slightly modified, in a quite different song. So, just for fun, how many songs can we name that have contain some variant of the line: the sun's gonna shine in my back door
. I'll start us off with:
Happy Good Morning Blues
Good day to you
Good day to you
Bonjour a toi
Good morning good people
soon they'll be blown all away ---------------------------------------------- Alex |

My boss-man was so mean, I works just like a slave
I once had a car, it were painted white and black
I wouldn't tell a mule to off if he sat down in my lap
Performed by Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee --------- Alex |
