Lyr Req: If you get there before I do

okay, i'm not a country fan in general. but i once worked at a subway sandwich chain (yes, i am a certified sandwich artist) in grinnell iowa. i listened to a lot of country. and some of those songs are pretty nice. there's this one i'm trying to find, but i don't have a clue what the title or artist might be.

chorus:
if you get there before i do
don't give up on me
i'll meet you when my chores are through
i don't know how long i'll be
[something something]
darlin', [something]
but until then, when i see you again
i'll be loving you
love, me

the idea is that these two kids are going to meet at their special tree to run away and get married, and the boy gets there and finds this note (chorus), and waits and they run away together and live happily ever after until they get old and she dies, and he sings the chorus to her. excellent example of the new-country genre: young love, family values, god, chorus that changes meaning in context of plot development.

what's the title? who sang it? is it on napster?

emily

you know, now that i listed to this song, it occurrs to me: i had been thinking i wanted to find this song because i was about to sing in a wedding, but i think i _really_ wanted it because my grandma just died. this is really a very sweet song.

(this is my very own personal thread. nobody'd better post to it, or else!)
