13 May 01 - 01:03 AM (#461255) Subject: Thought for the Day - May 13, 2001 From: katlaughing Happy Mother's Day to any and all who've ever "mothered" another person or critter!I think we, Mudcatters esp., have that nuturing nature, so I'd like to recognise all of you and say that I hope you have a wonderful day however you choose to spend it. Someone mentioned "Mothering Sunday" over in the UK. I'd like to know more about that. It sounds more inclusive and very intriguing to me, than just "Mother's Day." *bg* No offense intended. luvya'll...kat |

13 May 01 - 03:17 AM (#461285) Subject: RE: Thought for the Day - May 13, 2001 From: Ebbie Let me add my voice to the chorus: Happy Mothering to all! It's really nice watching my daughter's parenting skills- much more instinctively better than mine, if you grasp that convoluted phrase. But I would say that watching others in the art of nurturing any living creature is even better; there are some men who are very good at tenderness and empathy, just as there are some women. Ebbie |

13 May 01 - 01:55 PM (#461464) Subject: RE: Thought for the Day - May 13, 2001 From: wysiwyg First, if we are all Catters I guess we are all Mudders, so I think Mudcat ought to co-opt this holiday and get it renamed Mudders' Day. So, happy Mothers and Mudders Day! Second, Hardi sez he could look up Mothering Sunday in his Oxford Dictionary of the Christian Church. (It's not here at home tho.) So if no one on the UK answers your query about it, please let us know. And... I guess that makes this Muddering Sunday. *G* ~S~ |

I hate the "Hallmark" aspect of it. And have always admired Medea. But it was good being with my son and seeing him as a man. I did good! |
