Tech: UK. NTL Cable Modems

Do any of the UK readers here have experience of NTL Cable Modems?

I'd be grateful to hear your views.

A few things that I read suggest that NTL isn't the most reliable solution. i.e. lots of downtime.

Can anyone tell me from the 'horse's mouth?'

Many thanks

Ed

I'm not very good with the technical stuff, so I'm not entirely sure if this is of use, but I have been using a cable connection with Eurobell and haven't experienced any problems.

I have a cable modem with NTL and have experienced very few problems, it glitched for a couple of days recently, other than that has been up and running since November.

This is NTL that bill themselves as the Total Cable Service Provider, - the same company that parks a van at the top of my road every night - the same company that doesn't run a service down that same road, in an not particularly bad area of London!!!!

Thanks everyone.

I think I'll give it a try. Shame the minimum contract is a year though.

Thanks again.

Let me know how you get on - we're thinking of adding a cable modem (Telewest) as they've just dropped the price to £25 and as we're on 7/24 at £10 - thought it might be worth the investment! (My son certainly wants it!!!!!!)

Take care and "Good luck"
