Help: analogue and digital

One day a couple of weeks ago I turned on my radio to listen to BBC 4 via Astra satelite, and heard the repeated message that that was no longer possible, they had gone digital, and I could only receive it if I too go digital. Blast, I thought. Then I tuned into RTE RAdio, a few days later, and got the same message. I admit to being thrown over sideways. Coming as I do from Ireland and living here in Switzerland for almost 17 years now, it has been my daily link to whats going on at home. So I sent off an Email to RTE Radio, asking them what the changes would involve. They sent me back a very friendly mail, explaining the situation. I need to get a DVB (ever heard of it ) receiver and tune it in. Now!! Because we are three houses in one, we all are linked up to one satelite dish. So I would probably need to get a new dish too. Do any brainy and technical Mudcatters out there know anything more?? Investigation here I reckon it could cost up to SFR:700 or more. And would we still get the German channells?? Three days ago even Sky News put out a message that from the 1st June they will only be receivable over digital too. So there goes my last English speaking programmes. Grateful for any tips............

I bet you can get just a new reciever, and not have the additional expense of a dish. Also you ought to go to some searh engine. eg Google.com and type in the name of what you want to buy.

The price of a new reciever would not be that high - I bet it is around 50 UD Dollars.
