23 May 01 - 12:53 AM (#468436) Subject: RE: BS: Welcome, toadfrog From: CRANKY YANKEE Welcome ToadFrog. I have a lot of Lawyer friends whome I knew before they were Lawyers. They all were really fired up about "Justice " but, when they finished Law school and passed the Bar, every one of them got so involved with "THE LAW" that they quit thinking about real justice. How Come. I have a friend who is here with a group of Italian Business people from Bologna Italy. They operate various establishments in Newport Rhode Island. Giuseppe Scagliarini, their Lawyer, got his Law degree from the "oldest University in the World" (the one in Bologna) and had been practicing with an American Attourney's firm. He wanted to be able to practrice on his own so they sent him to Boston College Law School NO EASY RIDE He attended for one year Took the Bar and passed first time. Hows them for apples? Anywayt, he still has his eye on "Justice" rather than "The Law". His explanation of "How Come" is that Americans are spending all their time suing eachother over frivilous matters and don't have any time left for the real Practice of Law. Welcome, always good to have another Legal Eagle around, AND ONE THAT SINGS NAUTICAL FOLK MUSIC TOO. |
