UK Hull Sea Fever 2001

I put the latest info for Hull SeaFever2001 Shanty festival online yesterday.
Web site: www.hullcc.gov.uk/festival/shanty.html
Dates are Friday 17th August - Sunday 19th August 2001.
This year Sea Fever has been moved from it's usual dates in early September in order to be included in the Hull Festival of the Sea celebrations in August. Unfortunately that means Sea Fever now clashes with the first weekend of Whitby Folk Week.

"Appearing this year will be a host of international artistes including:-
Bob Webb - USA
Forebitter - USA
Hoolie - USA
Milner Conroy - USA
Shantykoor - Netherlands"

"Also appearing are some Sea Fever favourites including:-
Stormalong John, Scold's Bridle, G&T, Landlocked, John Conolly & Brian Dawson, Inner State Theatre, Johnny Collins, Shanty Jack, David Robinson, 'Lord Nelson', Hull Sea Cadets and Hull Press Gang.

Singaround hosts:-
Bitter End, and Graeme Knights."

If anyone's attending, please get in touch and I will make what arrangements I can about providing floorspace (bearing in mind that most of the Hull lot are going to Whitby!). Maggie and I should be in Hull and we would be happy to meet up with any Mudcatters.

Missed Hull last year due to a booking in Scarborough, I'm not going to miss it again this year.
It was touch and go, Hull changing its date to the 3rd weekend of August, which would have clashed with my local festival at Pontardawe had it not been cancelled. I had planned to "go sick" so I could go to Hull.
Not in the Bricks anymore is it?

We stopped going in the Green Bricks some time ago. We're usually in the Minerva, as there're fewer problems with non-Shanty people. I'm glad that the changed dates have at least suited you, Michael - they've buggered up everybody else who normally go up to Whitby that weekend (and the week after). Maggie and I are looking forward to seeing you again.
