I have recently stumbled across 2 old folk books by Jerry Silverman: "Beginning the folk guitar" volumes 1 & 2. Both excellent from what I can see. Loads of tab andinstruction. However, there used to be LPs (remember them) available to accompany them and I was wondering if anyone out there knew if they were still 'vailable. Any help would of course be greatly appreciated cause I can't seem to hear some of the tab and I can't read music so I'm stuck. Thanks again G |

There is software available to play music from TAB files, and to convert it to midi files, etc. There is other software which converts midi to TAB too, I think. I don't use TAB at all, so I'll leave it to the resident experts to recommend the best software.
For seeing music printed on the music staff, hearing it played while watching the notes light up, and printing out the music I use the music notation software called Noteworthy, which is available as a free demo download. It's really cheap to buy, and well worth it for its simplicity to use. (Usual disclimers, no attachment to company, blah blah - just a satisfied customer.) I find that using music software has helped me with playing music very much, in a lot of different ways. Helen |
