27 May 01 - 12:54 PM (#471338) Subject: For Auction: The Gnomes Vinyl Collection From: Dave the Gnome Promised I would put my vinyls in the auction for Mudcat funds. I will deliver within 50 miles of Manchester. Post them free elsewhere. I suggest batching them up into bundles of 5/6 for posting (Apart from the 2 boxed sets.) I think we can use the unwanted ones as 'packing' for the good ones? Any suggestions at how to proceed. Sorry for the size of posting and if the HTML ain't too good. Here we are then. Absolutely no order whatsoever. As they came out of the cupboard. The artists marked * are artists local to the north of England. I have tried to be objective in the comments on the condition of the record and the sleeve. I have only put good if I would play the record on any stylus. The ones marked fair or marked could be OK but I would not risk a £20 stylus on them! Only one fit to be made into a plant pot (American Pie) but as it is from the original year of release it may be of value to someone. I have only put good on sleeve condition if there is nothing wrong. Fair would include marks or split seams. NB. THESE ARE ALL USED ALBUMS. MANY OF THEM QUITE OLD. NO GUARANTEES GIVEN!!! Any further queries about condition, content etc. can be addressed directly to me.

27 May 01 - 01:13 PM (#471342) Subject: RE: For Auction: The Gnomes Vinyl Collection From: katlaughing WOW, Dave, that is quite a collection. For us to bid on them, though, I think it'd be best if you broke them into the 5/6 lots you mentioned, them list each of those as a separate lot in the auction. It is easy to do, just like starting a thread. You just go into the auction, click on where it says, "Add item to auction" and follow the lead from there. I have wanted to do something like this with some of my books, but felt there were too many and didn't want to muck up the auction with one thread for each book, so I will be interested to see if others have an idea of how we can do this in this thread or otherwise, too. Thanks, kat |

27 May 01 - 06:38 PM (#471474) Subject: RE: For Auction: The Gnomes Vinyl Collection From: Dave the Gnome Thanks, Kat and Noreen. It is just a ghost of the original collection! Bonzo Dog and Captain Beefheart have, I'm afraid, become just memories... I will do the deed and divide them up myself unless anyone else has other ideas..? I will pick what I think is good and add 'poorer' albums to make up the packing. So - 10 'good' albums. I would go for ..... Oh Bugger, can't decide. Watch this space! Back soon DtG |
