30 May 01 - 03:29 PM (#473240) Subject: RE: BS: badger cam From: katlaughing Very kewl badger cam!! Thanks! Tuned in just in time to hear the birds' evensong, see two badgers in the distance, foraging about, a squirrel up close and personal a large bird swoop down and pick about in the middle of it all! Just lovely! We were always warned to be very wary of badgers, as children hiking about in Colorado. We were told they were fierce and ferocious fighters who would never let go. I saw one, once, while walking with our dog, when I was 13. I ran so fast to get away, dragging my dog, because of course, being a terrier, he wasn't afraid of anything! The only other time I've seen one was a couple of years ago, in the fall. We were out on the prairie, near a creek, enjoying a drive, when a huge one ambled across the road in front of us. He even paused partway and stared at us as if to say, "Oh, yeah? It's MY road, you can wait!" Loved that attitude! Thanks! kat |

30 May 01 - 03:33 PM (#473245) Subject: RE: BS: badger cam From: Matt_R Well, Kim, you're gonna love the Lifehouse CD! "Everything" is me and my girl's song...we both ended up crying last night when I sang it to her on the phone. Fun facts: Jason wrote "Breathing" when he was 17, and "Trying To Find A Way" (about his parents' divorce) when he was 15. He's 20 now. Despite "Everything" being "our" song...my other absolute favorite is "Cling & Clatter". You won't get it out of your head for days and days... |

31 May 01 - 07:52 PM (#474013) Subject: RE: BS: badger cam From: JohnB Well Holy S**t, I just saw a badger on the badgercam. I shouted downstairs to my wife and said "I just saw a badger, she said "but we don't have Badgers" I replied "no but they do in England". Wonderful thing this Internet. The last time I saw a Badger was about 30 years or so ago near Coniston, we were going out to the pub and a fellow passed us going the other way. He was walking this big funny looking dog, which when we got closer turned out to be Badger with a big leather strap around it's waist. He had had it since it was young, it's mother got killed somehow and he had reared it. JohnB |
