01 Jun 01 - 11:38 AM (#474465) Subject: Stagg Guitars anyone? From: A Wandering Minstrel I was in a local instrument shop the other day and noticed what at first glance was an Ovation "Adamas" style guitar (the one with lots of little sound-holes instead of one big one) in their rack. I took it down and tried it and it had a great tone and as the price was very reasonable I am thinking of going back for it. Anyway, where the ovation logo should be on the head there is an elongated "S" in a circle and on the back of the head is a small metal plate which says "Stagg guitars" and then has a serial number of some sort. Has anyone heard of this maker or know anything about them? I cant find a web page and Ovation haven't heard of them. any info gratefully rcd? |

01 Jun 01 - 11:47 AM (#474471) Subject: RE: Stagg Guitars anyone? From: Scabby Douglas Yeah - Stagg make mostly budget guitars - I bought my son (who's 12) a Stagg Strat Copy and practice amp. It's fine for his purposes. A friend recently bought an acoustic 6 stringer with built in pickup for £99. I don't think it plays all that well - and you may say - well at that price it wouldn't. On the other hand, I have been playing a Westfield 6 that bought for £85 about 2 years ago. I get lots of comments on the sound projection and playability of it. It's laminate through and through, but it works for me.. Cheers Sd |
