The trouble is that splat the MP is somehow quite addictive.

Can we set one up for Canadian politicians, please, please, please?

I prefer the dancing hamsters myself.

Somehow this election doesn't seem to be erupting into torrents of acrimony on the Mudcat. Is that because there doesn't seem much doubt about the result?

Don't worry SINS, its not an American Election so its unimportant to the general Mudcat population.

Guest - I presume you were just trying to be witty and flippant, but you're very wrong.

Feeling very smug - I miss out on all the electioneering out here, and the bitching and infighting, hee hee! (btw - how's it actually going? who's in the lead? haven't seen any news for about a month!) jayohjo in the depths of the north of Russia! XX

McGrath, it's probably because the outcome is reasonably predictable, but also because I think we as a nation are sick and tired of politicians, their petty squabbling, corruption and arrogance. Passing Laws at whim that don't actually do much for the electorate. And generally not giving a tinkers cuss about the population really. They pay plenty of lip service if it makes good "spin" but overall there's not much for the people from government. Left, right, centre, indifferent they are mostly the same-out for themselves and after controlling the population so there is no real risk to them or their big money masters.

Cheers-sick of the lot of them

Eric

Paddymac - sorry I was trying to be witty and flippant but failed miserably. And of course, guest went for the bait. I did enjoy the egg toss though.

The other day I was having a 'what has my MP ever done fof me?' moment after receiving a canvassing leaflet through the letterbox. Then I remembered this that I had seen a few days earlier. So I faxed the article to my MP pointing out that his fellow MP had been advocating the go ahead of a very contoversial Dam project in Turkey. I asked what the party policy would be in future, on underwriting projects in Turkey. I got a reply the very next day (the power of election/vote fever) which said the matter was being looked into !!
So now I know what my MP does all day - he looks into things (goldfish bowl, glass of beer....) when he is not being a labour whip
