07 Jun 01 - 11:46 AM (#478401) Subject: Thread Deja Vu (did I post this before?) From: GUEST,Scabby Doug at work on the Cookievorous PC Is it just me or do some threads keep on recurring? Not being revived, just new instances of old questions.. In the past few days, we've had request for help with the songs Fear a Bhata, Black is the Colour.. We've had people asking how to say "Thanks" in Gaelic. All of which I remember from not too long ago.. I just wondered what the most commonly asked questions are? I know that someone will have to post an echo of this thread title.... might just do it myself.. Cheers SD

From: wysiwyg Say what? *G* Look out or you'll be doing a FAQ on folk questions. *G* I think it's just testimony to the fact that new people wander in all the time and care about the same things. And a lot of us are proably listneing to the same CDs and tapes, of which there are actually finite numbers of recorded folk treasures, and this will tend to bring up the same songs we want to learn, etc. ~S~ |

From: Bill D there are question that get asked over & over, partly because some topics are 'obvious'...like "who are you".."what's your favorite song?"(ugh)..etc....these are often asked by new members who have not yet realized that we have **4+ YEARS** worth of threads in storage, and a way to search them! We also have a number of songs that keep popping up because they are 1)popular and 2)they have some funny title or spelling and folks will NOT heed Dick Greenhaus' repeated pleas to search on some phrase WITHIN the song that MUST be right, rather than some poorly remembered title or complex spelling. then again, sometimes, like politics & weather folks just wanna re-hash some things...., |
