Help: Whois? SANDY DUFF?

I am attempting to organize and update a local session book. A problem with the previous version is that numerous "contributions" from anonymous donors appear to violate copyrights. I would like to get permissions or remove questionable tunes, so that people won't be afraid of open exchange and distribution – (and I won't be afraid to put my name in the book, to tell them where they can get a copy).

I have done fairly well at tracking down most of the possible conflicts, but SANDY DUFF has me stumped.

The old Session Book implies that SANDY DUFF is the composer of "The High Reel."

Internet sources (Ceolas & others) show Sandy Duff as an alternate title for The High Reel.

The name Sandy Duff also appears as "the title of 'a Ceilidh Dance' tune."

A horse named SANDY DUFF placed 3d at The Network Personnel Consultancy Wayward Lad Novices Chase (Class B) 2M at 2:50 pm, Boxing Day, December 25, 2000 at Kempton Park Racecourse.

Does the horse hold a copyright? – or more seriously, can anyone tell me who/what Sandy Duff is/was and whether "The High Reel" is likely to be acceptably attributed to the great composer TRAD?

It appears that Sandy Duff is a traditional tune - the Scottish version of The High Reel. Both the Scots Guards Standard Settings Of Pipe Music, Vol. One, and Highland Tunes For The Fiddle, Vol. Two, publications that have carefully researched and credited copywrited tunes, do not show copywrite or a composer's name associated with this tune.

Thanks for the reply. Sort of agrees with my impression.
I guess for now I'll assume a Trad origin for this one. I still have a number of other tunes to work before I can start letting people have the collection, but I have some leads to chase on most of the rest of them.
