Lyr Req: Child's Song (Murray McLauchlan)

I've been everywhere looking for the lyrics to these two songs. "Child's Song" was written by Murray McLauchlan and subsequently recorded also by Tom Rush and David Bromberg. "Poor Man's Daughter" is by Buffy Sainte Marie. Both are awesome narrative ballads. Appreciate any help!

From: Larry who has forgotten what he used to know.

I'm looking for lyrics to a couple of great songs I used to know but don't any longer. "Child's Song" was written and performed by Murray McLauchlin, then also recorded (at least) by Tom Rush and David Bromberg. "Poor Man's Daughter" is a great narrative ballad by Buffy Sainte-Marie. Help me, please, and I'll be indebted! Thanks - LBG

Hmmm. A 1997 request. 22 years old.

Here's the recording by Murray McLauchlan:

And by Tom Rush: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qT3be69X-Xg

Here's my transcription of the McLauchlan recording.

CHILD'S SONG
(Murray McLauchlan)

Goodbye momma, goodbye to you too pa
Little sister, you'll have to wait a while to come along
Goodbye to this house and all its memories
We all just got too old to say we're wrong

I forgot to make one last trip to my bedroom
I guess I'll have to leave some stuff behind
It's funny how the same old crooked pictures
Just don't look the same to me tonight

There ain't no use in shedding no more tears, ma
And there ain't no use in shouting at me, pa
I can't live no longer with your fears, ma
I love you, but that hasn't helped at all

All of us gotta do what matters
And each of us must see what we can see
Though it was long ago you must remember
That you were once as young and scared as me

Mamma I don't know how hard it is yet
When you realize you're growing old
I know how hard is now to be younger
And I know you're tryin' to keep me from the cold

But thanks for all you done, it may sound hollow
Thank you for the good time that we've known
But I must have my own road to follow
You will all be welcome in my home

So, I have got my suitcase, I must go now
I don't mind about the things you said
Sorry, ma, I don't know where I'm going
And remember little sister, look ahead

Tomorrow I'll be in some other sunrise
And maybe I'll have someone by my side
Mamma give your love back to your husband
Father you've taught we well, goodbye

Goodbye Mamma, goodbye to you too pa
Goodbye momma, goodbye to you too pa
