Petr,

Yes, he died last week. On the same day as Carroll O'Connor. Died in his sleep at 83.

"dead" is a lousy word to use, especially since we still have his music to listen to. Mr. Hooker has gone to a better place.

His music isn't dead, but he certainly is.

BanjoRay,

My thoughts precisely. I've always hated people trying to sugar coat death. He is dead, he has no hope of not being dead. Passed on, gone to meet his maker, no longer with us, curled etc. I mean no disrepect and I will listen to and rejoice in his music, but he is dead. I just thank God that I got to hear his (and many others) contributions when they were alive.

The great man died last thursday in his sleep at home in los altos,ca. He was 83 and still playing in clubs up until the end. A fact not known by many is that he wore glasses when he played to hide the tears which fell as he sang the blues.

Another founding father has left us.

God bless you John.

Your old pal......Codfish

Ranger Steve: he's dead. What's wrong with the word, "dead?"

Doug R - it's too final, especially for friends, relatives and people I respect. Hey, we're getting off the subject. Let's get back to praising a great musician.
