In the song the words are: It was a time, oh what a time it was, a time of innocence, a time of happiness. Not sure if it is a group or a single but it has one male singer. Soft and accoustic.Does anybody know artist and title. Could have something to do with LIFE or Youth.

It is "Bookends" from the S&G record of the same name. You have the words a little wrong, though. Here's the complete lyrics:

Time it was and what a time it was it was A time of innocence, a time of confidences. Long ago it must be, I have a photograph. Preserve your memories, they're all that's left you.

It's a short song.
