About 15 years ago after her daughter was born Bette sang "Fat as I Am" and sprawled across Johnny's desk and I was hysterically laughing the whole time. She did say that it was a song on one of her albums and I would love to have the words. Help. Also is there a Web page where I could get Chords to songs???

Hi, the album is "MUD WILL BE FLUNG TONIGHT," available at budget prices. I really like the early stuff by Bette Midler, before she started doing the sentimental slop that makes people all teary-eyed. For pop songs, the best place to find lyrics is on the alt.music.lyrics newsgroup, or at the International Lyrics Server, http://www.olga.net/. Hope that helps.

Well, it was a good try, but I left out a quote mark and screwed up the entire last message. Usual place to get chords was the Online Guitar Archive, known as OLGA, but it keeps getting shut down by threats from ASCAP and BMI. Search for OLGA with a Web search engine and follow all the links they suggest. Best place to get lyrics for folk songs is here, but for pop songs, it's the alt.music.lyrics newsgroup or the International Lyrics Server, http://www.lyrics.ch/search.html.

Hi, Maine Lady, and welcome to the best site on the web. The OLGA archive is now located at:

Enjoy.
