It was wonderfully entertaining to read, but frightening when one stopped and though about just how many people actually think in such pre-historic or medieval superstitious terms!! hey... that'd make a good band name... Jeasus-freak Zealots!! ;-) |

01 Jul 01 - 12:59 PM (#495909) Subject: RE: BS: Everyone knows the best bands... From: Rick Fielding Wow, a new bookmark for my eclectic collection. Any organisation that can put THE CARPENTERS and ROBERT JOHNSON in the same category has got to be worth visiting on a regular basis! No surprise with Alice Cooper though..Just because he plays golf with Republican presidents doesn't mean he ISN'T controlled by Satan. The Debbil's pretty high up on the corporate ladder, and those green-fees are murder. Thanks Peg. Rick |

Then I realised that it's serious, for real... Oh, my... Hell seems an attractive option compared to eternity with this lot... GUEST btw do any religious people know if there's an option between heaven and hell? Any chance that I can just be dead and go to sleep? |

02 Jul 01 - 02:57 AM (#496362) Subject: RE: BS: Everyone knows the best bands... From: SeanM I personally like wherein they take scripture and torturously twist the meanings around to promote their own view of spirituality. Susan (because I KNOW you'll likely view this, and you're normally concerned about the religious content), THIS kind of activity is not what I associate with 'true' christians. THIS kind of activity puts the group on the same level as the "line my hat with tinfoil to keep out the Venusian mindcontrol lasers" groups. Lunatics... and not even particularly entertaining lunatics. M |

03 Jul 01 - 09:08 AM (#497410) Subject: RE: BS: Everyone knows the best bands... From: Steve Latimer I'm shattered. It seems that Inspector Clousseau was inspired by Satan. And Bob Dylan, although they haven't told us how or why. Rick & Peter, are you going to do another Dylan show? I think it would be remiss of you if you ignored this aspect of Bob's career. In the meantime, you may as well just burn the Dylan CD's that I loaned you, it will save me the trouble.

From: UB Ed "AC/DC's philosophy and music did not only drive Bon Scott to a premature death, but the U.S. Army used AC/DC's music as "psychological torture" to drive Manuel Noriega out of the Vatican Embassy and into prison." Wow. |

03 Jul 01 - 09:45 AM (#497441) Subject: RE: BS: Everyone knows the best bands... From: Brian Hoskin Got to admit it, I've always had my suspicions about Backstreet Boys. But there do seem to be some glaring omissions from the list. Not to mention any names, but there are a lot of people who just go on having hit after hit for absolutely no discernible reason, you've just got to wonder how they do it. Of course I always put it down to the music industry, and come to think of it there might just be a connection . . . don't sign the contract till you've read the small print! Brian |

03 Jul 01 - 09:53 AM (#497447) Subject: RE: BS: Everyone knows the best bands... From: Steve Latimer I thoughtthat Dirk Gently was a work of fiction, but it seems that Douglas Adams was on to this years ago. |

03 Jul 01 - 09:53 AM (#497448) Subject: RE: BS: Everyone knows the best bands... From: RangerSteve Is there a band called Beethoven, or are they condemning Ludwig himself? Maybe he is evil. After all, in Fantasia, the Disney people were inspired to nudity in their version of the 6th Symphony. All those cupids with bare butts could cause people to lust after children. (I'm being sarcastic). And Michael Landon? I could blame my diabetes on his shows, they're so sweet. But then, diabetes and diablo start with the same 3 letters. Hey, loot at me, I can think like an idiot! |

03 Jul 01 - 10:54 AM (#497502) Subject: RE: BS: Everyone knows the best bands... From: hesperis "look" or "hoot", RangerSteve? And they could very well be condemning Ludwig himself... we will just have to wait for the explanation. But I didn't see Paganinni in that list... He definitely had inspiration from demons! He even looked like a demon, and his music inspired women to lust. |

03 Jul 01 - 01:04 PM (#497610) Subject: RE: BS: Everyone knows the best bands... From: Kim C Okay, I have gone and looked at the site now. All I can say is, whatever.... I saw the interview where Steven Tyler made the comment about putting all his money up his nose. What they don't tell you here is that he also expressed that the abuse to which he subjected himself was a Really Bad Idea, and he wasn't doing it anymore. If I remember right, Aerosmith participated in the Rockers Against Drugs campaign. People do clean up once in awhile. There's a lot of people in the rock business who should have been dead by now but they finally got wise. As far as the groping business, well, that's part of the act, innit? |

04 Jul 01 - 11:46 PM (#498675) Subject: RE: BS: Everyone knows the best bands... From: Jim Dixon From Good Fight Ministries' review of the film "American Beauty." " . . . Scripture discloses that homosexuals actually invent evil as a result of a hardened and depraved heart . . ." "Good Fight Ministries" are apparently ticked off that a gay couple is portrayed in that movie as being well adjusted and not particularly evil. (They're minor characters.) This "logic" makes me shudder. |
