looking for 'first dance' song

I have heard a song several times on the radio, (CBC, Canadian Broadcasting Corp) but do not remember the title or the name of the singer (male). The refrain goes: "I want to marry you, will you marry me". It is a folk/country/bluegrass type tune, and I would love to play it for our first dance at our upcoming wedding, July 20/01. If anyone can help with a title or singer name. I thought it was Bob Snider, a Canadian folk singer, but I think I have checked all his song lyrics (those on the web anyway) and found no matches. I would be grateful to anyone who could help us find this song. It is about an 'old hippie' who is asking his lady love to marry him. It is humerous and a great dance tune. Thank you, Shelley

Eric Clapton does this song (click here)
A Google search is tough because the words bring over 7000 hits! Hey- how about a call to the CBC?
Good luck and blessings on your wedding.
