16 Jul 01 - 09:22 PM (#508174) Subject: Gotta find Homeward midi fast From: GUEST,Andrew I've got to accompany "Homeward" by Marta Keen at a memorial service in two days. Don't know it at all; heard it sung badly once. Need a midi. Anybody know where I can get one? Thanks a bunch, Andrew |

I am assuming you don't mean the one by Simon and Garfunkel. The song I found associated with Marta was called Homeward Bound, like the S&G song, but it had a different arranger and there was no midi. Anyway, here are two maybe likely candidates: Homeward Bound - 1917 song also popular during WWI. You'll need to scroll down to find the midi at the end of the article which includes a picture of the sheet music cover. Hope these help. kat |

16 Jul 01 - 10:58 PM (#508254) Subject: RE: Help: Gotta find Homeward midi fast From: Mary in Kentucky Hi Andrew, according to this page the name is "Homeward Bound." There is a RealAudio sample here also...BTW, this is absolutely gorgeous. Let us know if this is the one...it says Marta Keen. If you'd rather have a midi, you can search for a midi of "Homeward Bound," and rulw out all the Simon and Garfunkel ones! |

16 Jul 01 - 11:14 PM (#508270) Subject: RE: Help: Gotta find Homeward midi fast From: Mary in Kentucky Actually it's not a midi. I've found midis much easier to get a piano accompanyment, but in a pinch I can transcribe from an audio clip. |

Unfortunately I failed in my attempt to download the new version of Real Audio that I need in order to listen to it. But thanks for the effort. Don't know how I'm going to resolve this at this time. 17 Jul 01 - 10:04 PM (#509204) Subject: RE: Help: Gotta find Homeward midi fast From: Mary in Kentucky Awwwww Andrew, try again! I've had to download it for two different computers, twice each, and no probs. On this page, it's the RealPlayer 8 Basic (the free one.) It really is a nice arrangement with minimal accompanyment. |

This sheet music is arranged for a choir - soprano, alto, tenor & bass with piano. Helen

21 Jul 01 - 03:12 PM (#512094) Subject: RE: Help: Gotta find Homeward midi fast From: GUEST,Andrew Mary, Katlaughing, and Helen, I haven't had time to properly thank you. Here's how it turned out: The singer didn't know Homeward Bound and didn't feel he had time to learn it. We were going to do it plus The Rose and Loch Lomond. We dropped Homeward Bound and did the other two. He and I met just an hour and a half before the service and practiced about 35 minutes together. It went great, and suceeded in adding uplift to the occasion, which was what it was all for. The sites and help you gave me will be valued in the future, and the moral support was valued at the time. Thanks, Andrew |

21 Jul 01 - 04:33 PM (#512151) Subject: RE: Help: Gotta find Homeward midi fast From: McGrath of Harlow I have to admit I'm a bit disappointed - I thought this might be a thread about the Uncle books by John Percival Martin, a mysteriously neglected classic of nonsense literature. "Homeward" is the name of the place he is supposed to live. Read a chapter here if you are curious." |
