This isn't a remake of The Bangles' song, is it?

This sounds rather stretching it, even for Mudcat. I mean, it's not like we're talking a classic song here. Next up, requests for NSync... :-) Still the worst that can happen is that you get no answers, or someone starts flaming.

Incidentally, if the song's only just been released then it's unlikely ppl will know the words. They'll just have learnt them from the radio/CD, the same way you would.

Graham.

Subject: Lyr Add: ETERNAL FLAME (Hoffs/Kelly/Steinberg)
From: Quincy

Yep it is the Bangles song....me being the groovy and hip chick knows it!! ;)

Eternal Flame

Close your eyes, give me your hand, darling
Do you feel my heart beating, do you understand?
Do you feel the same? Am I only dreaming?
Is this burning an eternal flame?

I believe it's meant to be, darling
I watch you when you are sleeping
You belong with me
Do you feel the same?
Am i only dreaming or is this burning?
An eternal flame

Say my name, sun shines through the rain
oh life, so lonely and then come and ease the pain
I don't want to lose this feeling, ohhh

Close your eyes give me your hand
Do you feel my heart beating?
Do you understand, do you feel the same?
Am I only dreaming, or is this burning?
An eternal flame

best wishes, Yvonne

Wouldn't the adjective be atonal rather than atonic?

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: attonic kitten
From: Louisa

yeah, yeah alright. atomic kitten's ability to sell records doesn't mean they're any good, anyway. It's not even their song

The poignancy of 'whack fal diddle dol di do' should not be underestimated. Anyway, I try to avoid singing songs with those bits in them.

I never mentioned Atomic Kitten.

I was merely suggesting that your critique of the lyricists skills was somewhat lacking in foundation.

'And it goes/ La la la la la la la/ Just like everyone else does when they can't think of any more words'

Nope. Maybe I ought to stick at my current job, after all. At least I get to mess about on the PC all day. (See How many mudcatters are receptionists? thread). Not for long though, as the necessity of finding a career path is looming. I'll be ruling out journalist now though.

People have told me I'm good at writing in the past, actually. I just don't have anything interesting to say about Atonal Kitten.

Gosh VERY IMPORTANT boss has just come in. Better go.

The line up change is old news. I would have thought any self respected pop magazine would have covered it a few months ago. And seeing as they've hardly set the pop world alight, a column would probably do.

Noreen-should'nt your earlier comments read a gin and tonic not atonic?

Blue Peter, I was actually on the prog !!

And as for Jim and EJ surely "Rock bitch" would be a good education for you as you like pussy so much.

My eight year old sings eternal flame excellently so no piss taking !! Or vallhala will not welcome you, mind you she also sings "Time after time" like an angel.(which is more than her father will be !)-NOT the postman.

Possibly in about 50 years at ye Olde mudcatcafe' site" someone will ask for the lyrics. We should encompass all music and be multiethnicallydivergent and diverse. Now where's me Shaggy lyrics and me Coolio song sheet.

Cheers

No meanness intended, Dorrie, merely light-hearted banter, and certainly no criticism of the poster. The lyrics were found without a quibble, even though they are outside the scope of a 'folk and blues' site- so I think she could have expected a bit of gentle ribbing... :0)

Sinsull, would that be played like Monty Python's "mouse organ"? Pass the mallet...

I think with a perfect pitch with a kitten, I could probably get about 50-60 yards. Of course, it might be difficult playing catch, since the person at the other end will have a little bundle of claws and teeth to try and grab hold of. I think baseball gloves would be a definite necessity. Or maybe you could do it like lacrosse - that'd work.

Graham.

I prefer to use a pitch fork; they go farther and are easier to catch. Only joking, obviously it wouldn't happen cos things with holes in are not so efficient aerodynamically.

Careful Grab, my cat's not amused at talk of nets and stuff since he got seriously tangled in my salmon net. Took half an hour to get the bugger out (How many legs is a cat supposed to have? I'm sure I counted at least six!)
As for atonic; he's probably more in tune than me most of the time (certainly since his nadgers were lopped off - but that's one sacrifice I'm not prepared to make. I may have Van Gogh's ear for music, but my giblets are staying right where they are!)

It's a children's programme on BBC television - an institution.
There's a bit about it here, or just ask any Brit between the ages of 10 and 50. Like tree-ring dating, you can tell the age of someone by asking them which presenter they first had a crush on (I'm ancient, so I still have fond memories of Valerie Singleton).

A "Blue Peter" is, I believe, a naval flag, used for signalling something or other. Hence the ship on the badges.
