Yorkshire Romance for 2 From: Ralphie Back in the 1980's, my popular (?) beat combo "Eric" (with the late Nigel Chippindale) regularly performed this song, using appalling puns relating to Yorkshire towns. It was written by a friend of Nigels, but who?? Have recently recorded it with The Fraser sisters, and would like to credit him.......Any help?

I remember - with great love - you guys singing it; IMO it's up with the very best of the Folk humorous songs, so it's great to hear you've recorded it . . I'd always assumed Nigel had written it himself . . looks like our bank balance is due for another slump at Sidders . . I'm more sure of the "popular" than the "beat" in relation to Eric . . after all, I did try to book them twice in their relatively short existence (but Ralphie and Colin couldn't make the second date . .) Why did neither Eric nor The Hop make it into the studio?? (Am I right in remembering Nigel's "big band" as being "The Hop"? Grey matter distinctly in decline, as we've observed before . . ) Cheers! Did you know Nigel was the first person to pay Chris (wifey, for those who don't know) for playing a gig? She thought she was just joining in for the fun of doing so, yet Nigel insisted on splitting the fee equally between himself and the two other musicians.
