19 Jul 01 - 02:02 PM (#510517) Subject: RE: Help: Press Room:- Portsmouth NH From: Bat Goddess Curmudgeon here. Hail Giok! The Press Room session will be in full swing on 7 September, barring some unforseen disaster, ie., hiurricane, earthquake, tidal wave, etc. The sessions start around 4:30 and last till nearly 9. The Press Room is located at 77 Daniel Street (Route 1 South) across from the Portsmouth Post Office. There are more detailed directions on another thread -- Music in Southern Maine/NH - July 21-27? Looking forward to yor company -- Tom |

19 Jul 01 - 02:04 PM (#510520) Subject: RE: Help: Press Room:- Portsmouth NH From: Naemanson Every Friday for the last 20 or so years. No sign of its ending at any time in the future unless the building burns flat or some other natural disaster takes it out. I believe then it will just take up its process in another venue. As long as there is beer, food, and no muzak we can sing. Festivities begin around 4:40 and run till 9:00. Bring an instrument or just your voice and join in. |

19 Jul 01 - 03:35 PM (#510625) Subject: RE: Help: Press Room:- Portsmouth NH From: Bat Goddess But the Mudcat gathering (convergence? accumulation? puddle? exaltation!) at The Press Room is at the Friday, July 27th session -- see the thread on What's happening in Southern Maine/NH July 21-27. See you (sometime) at The Press Room! Bat Goddess this time, not Curmudgeon |

19 Jul 01 - 05:19 PM (#510722) Subject: RE: Help: Press Room:- Portsmouth NH From: Charley Noble Word of caution – your only amplifier at The Press Room is yourself, and sometimes there's a high degree of ambient noise. There is also smoking permitted at the adjacent bar. However, it's still one of the best places to sing, and with a great bunch of primarily traditional style singers! |
