I go to Grey Fox (formerly Winterhawk) every year, and always have a great time! In fact, I usually start a thread each year, and have a monologue, because (usually) no one ever goes or replies to the thread.

We've been going to this festival since 1986, I think. Every year there is some sort of plague - Grey Fox is not for the weak - but this year the weather was fine, there were no flies, no storms, everything was great except for the dust from the dryness. The workshops are absolutely the best I've seen, and we go to lots of bluegrass festivals. The lineup was tremendous, as usual.

So, djh, glad to hear from another bluegrasser who enjoyed the festival. Are you going to Noppet Hill this weekend?

No , I am not going to Noppet Hill. I never went to any Bluegrass fest before this years Grey fox. I am more of a Blues/folky , but, I always liked Bluegrass. What a festival! I enjoyed the hell out of myself.

What parts did you particularly like? The shows? Field picking? Vendors? Workshops? Dancing? Partying? Another BIG festival you might also like to try is Thomas Point Beach in Brunswick, Maine over Labor Day Weekend. It's huge, like Grey Fox, although somewhat tamer but just as much fun.

the Shows- The Whites, Doc x2, Del x2, Grisman, old and in the way, Dry Branch , Gospel on Sunday morn, tim O'. Field picking, partying, and the people. That's pretty much what I liked. I will think about TPB.
