24 Jul 01 - 05:41 AM (#513210) Subject: Find a song...'Ride On' From: GUEST,Josie During a recent Dublin visit I heard the most fantastic song and I'd love to trace the lyrics, music or a recording of it. I believe the title is "Ride On" and I can only remember one line of the chorus "I could never go with you no matter how I wanted to" The band that I heard playing it was called GRÁDA, wonderful sound if you get to hear them. I think it might be one of those "popular" songs but somehow I've missed it up 'til now. (Sorry about the scanty information but alot of whisky had been consumed at the time) Thanks |

24 Jul 01 - 07:58 PM (#513872) Subject: RE: Find a song...'Ride On' From: Benjamin Parliament recorded a song called Ride On. Went something like- Hey Babe what you know is what you feel! Don't worry about being right, just be for real!! And so on. |
24 Jul 01 - 08:30 PM (#513897) Subject: RE: Find a song...'Ride On' From: Susanne (skw) McGrath, isn't the song older than Shergar's abduction? I can't remember which year that was. Noreen, thanks for posting all those links. Makes it a little easier :-). How's life? |
24 Jul 01 - 09:01 PM (#513923) Subject: RE: Find a song...'Ride On' From: Noreen You're welcome. Found it interesting to see all the repeat requests from people who had just discovered this song, and what they thought of it. The horse seems symbolic to me- not central to the song- she is leaving, carefree, from a failed relationship, and he's left behind, hurting... But it could equally mean a lot else. Noreen |
