24 Jul 01 - 10:01 AM (#513345) Subject: Coca-Cola Song From: GUEST,Andy Howes Some weeks ago I put out a request for the Coca-Cola Song which was very popular on the Isle of Wight in the 60's. It was sung by John Green and Lauri Saye amongst others and they also sang the Advertising Man song requested by Vectis. I would still like the words to this song and also to the Floating Bridge song ( Cowes not Woolston ). So if anyone has the lyrics to those old Lauri numbers PLEASE get in touch. Thanks, Andy. |

Now I never will forget that floating bridge.
When I was going down, I throwed up my hands.
Now they carried me in the house and they laid me 'cross the bank.
They dropped me off and they laid me in the bed.
Now my mother often taught me, "Quit playin' a bum."
Now people standin' on the bridge was screaming and crying. |

I'd like to buy the world a Coke..." inserted to replace "...I'd like to hold it in my hand." If this is the song you're looking for, let me know. I can post the lyrics if nobody else does first. |
