Wasn't Chuck berry jailed a couple of times because of the "Mann" Act? Knew there had to be a Music connection somewhere, Ha Ha!

26 Jul 01 - 10:43 AM (#514911) Subject: RE: Happy Birthday - FBI From: Wolfgang Why just this particular birthday? I went to a site with memorabilia for 26th of July and found among many many others the following birthdays for this day:
G.B. Shaw and (from a large selection):
resignations of King Faruk and Chruchill or (on the music side), first releases of these songs (also among others):
Tampico So, please, why of about 200 memorabilia for today the FBI? >I could easily start more than 100 threads a day with birthdays, deaths, and other memorable days. Wolfgang

26 Jul 01 - 10:57 AM (#514928) Subject: RE: Happy Birthday - FBI From: wysiwyg The FBI is in the news a lot over here, Wolfgang, because some of their past problems have been coming to light, there is a new director, and there is the ongoing laugh to be had over its foibles. (They are also called the Feebs or Feebies.) I imagine Catters with political interests find the FBI an interesting subject, or have a variety of saved-up impressions of it, due to its role in the 60's, among other suppressive functions it has performed. ~S~ |

26 Jul 01 - 01:12 PM (#515032) Subject: RE: Happy Birthday - FBI From: LoopySanchez Latest news I heard on the FBI was that they organized a fake "conference" at HQ that was nothing more than a taxpayer funded retirement party for one of the higher-ups, disguised as an official business function so that more FBI officials could travel to attend it and be reimbursed. But who do you complain to when your tent's at the bottom of the hill and the guy camping on top has a full bladder? Just another example of BOHICA for the taxpayer. (Bend Over, Here It Comes Again!) But as was stated in a previous post, if they're monitoring this board, "Great job, FBI! Best wishes on another 93 years of law enforcement excellence!" |
