Grandma's Lye Soap was usually heard in conjunction with Johnny Standley's It's In The Book, which you can find here.

Mrs. O'Malley, down in the valley, suffered from ulcers, I do understand. She swallowed a cake of Grandma's lye soap, Now she has the cleanest ulcers in the land! (It's In The Book!)

Is this the one you are talking about? I had it in the late 50's... Don't know what happened to it.. but would like all the lyrics myself.

Connie, if you click the link in my post of 21 Oct 99 - 11:16 PM, you'll find the lyrics to both parts and more.

Oh, and has it REALLY been that long ago that we talked about it?

You've managed somehow or other to find a very, very old thread with very, very little information in it; though the second post, nine years old now, provides a link (blue and underlined) to a set of words. Have a look too at the top of this page, where you will see links to more recent discussions here which contain plenty of information, including words.
