BS: V2001 - any folk?

I recently started a thread about the T in the Park rock festival in Kinross and was pleasantly surprised to find there was a ceilidh tent there.

Hoping to get to V2001 at Weston Park in a couple of weeks. Anyone know if there is anything similar there?

Thinking about it - what a great idea! You know, like a Creché for all us old folkies taking teenage daughters to festivals! Anyone fancy joining me in trying for a lottery grant for next years season??? ;-)

Back to the serious - any other Mudcatters there?

Cheers

Not that I am averse to spending a few hours listening to other music - the main stage line up is as follows (in reverse order)

Red Hot Chili Peppers
Foo Fighters
David Gray
Placebo
Neil Finn
Idlewild
Powderfinger

Don't know Powderfinger or Idlewild but love Placebo, Gray and the 'Peppers. Neil Finn was good with Crowded house - don't know him on his own and what I have seen of the Foo Fighters looks good.

On reflection. Sod the folk music. Rock On! Now where's that bong.....;-)

Cheers

Looks like it Dave... :0)

Not ignoring you, but nothing to offer about this festival, sorry.

Have fun, and I hope it ROCKS!

Well it may not be folk, but at least he's from the West Midlands!
This from BBC online:
Big Brother's Dean's festival date

Former Big Brother contestant Dean O'Loughlin has been signed up to play at the V2001 music festival in Chelmsford, Essex.

Dean - who showed off his guitar skills during his nine weeks on the Channel 4 show - will play at the two-day event on 18 August.

Also included on the V2001 bill are Texas, Coldplay, Kylie Minogue, Toploader, The Charlatans, David Gray - and many more.

Dean - who made it into the final three on the reality TV show - once had a recording deal with his band L Kage but now plays in an act called Phoney.
