I know the first verse, which goes something along the lines of: We're busy doing nothing Working the whole day through Trying to find Lots of things not to do We're busy going nowhere Isn't it just a crime We'd like to be Unhappy But we never do have the time. If anyone knows how this lyrical gem continues, please let me know. |

CHO: We're busy doing nothing, working the whole day through,
I have to watch the river, to see that it doesn't stop,
I have to wake the sun up. He's liable to sleep all day.
I have to meet a turtle. I'm teaching him how to swim. (The chorus, and each repetition of it, is preceded by a long string of la-la-las.) [Sung by Bing Crosby, William Bendix, and Cedric Hardwicke in the film, "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court," 1949.] |
