The refrain went something like this: There was Peter sittin' in the corner, fiddle in his hand, -snip- Come on, won't you let me in? I want to join the band... Thanks in advance, Dan |

It looks like The Tin Whistle, an Irish pub in Victoria, BC, has changed the URL of its lyrics & tunes page. Have you ever heard of a pub with its own lyrics & tunes web page? It looks like a good one and may be worth bookmarking. Anyway, I found the lyrics and here they are. (On the lyrics page, the song is called "Peter.")
PETER'S SONG
CHORUS: There was Peter sitting in the corner, his fiddle in his hand,
Then late one night he let me in and I made my way along.
But the time said, "Gentlemen, please!" and the gentlemen would go.
It was the springtime seventy-four that Peter he did die,
The day that Peter passed away we always will regret.
CHORUS: There was Peter sitting in the corner his fiddle in his hand |
