14 Aug 01 - 11:42 AM (#527703) Subject: RE: BS: An Experiment - A Taste of Their Own Med From: GUEST,Guest Would I be less anon. If I told you my name was Nick? Guests should have a number so you can tell them apart. But if you think that my telling you my "name" tells you anything about me you are being duped by the medium, not the mesage. |

14 Aug 01 - 11:44 AM (#527707) Subject: RE: BS: An Experiment - A Taste of Their Own Med From: GUEST Posting IP addresses in the header of the message would go a long way toward stripping the "nameless/faceless" ones of their veils. Yes, IP addesses can be fudged, it can also be a bit more than its worth to muck with it though. |

14 Aug 01 - 09:16 PM (#528226) Subject: RE: BS: An Experiment - A Taste of Their Own Med From: GUEST,Trickster Coyote I see those of you who keep perpertually swearing off flaming guests while simultaneously flaming them, are sticking to your resolutions with your usual success rate. I rather liked Roger of Sheffield's comments... but clearly, the grey matter has escaped from you lads. |

14 Aug 01 - 10:08 PM (#528260) Subject: RE: BS: An Experiment - A Taste of Their Own Med From: McGrath of Harlow Seriously, can it be reasonable to describe something as mild as this thread as "flaming"? Surely that's a word that should be held in reserve for the heavy and nasty stuff that sometimes erupts.
(And, as has been said rather often already, but then a newcomer might have missed it, noone here (so far as I have noticed) has ever had any objection to guests as such. The vast majority of them, like Trickster Coyote, use an identifying, albeit pseudonymous or tewmporary, handle, so making communication a lot easier, and they have often contributed enormously to the qualkity of the Mudcat.) |
