My favorite would have to be: Are you made of Campbell's soup? Because you're looking m,m,m good.

What's yours??????

I'm reminded of Lenny Henry's (a Black British comedian) introduction to a young lady that he had invited up on stage ...

Lenny: "Do you have any African in You"?

YL: "No"

Lenny: "Would you like some"?

My favorite pick up line??

The one that goes from the underside of the saddle to the pre-amp...

A close second is the line from the pre-amp to the end pin jack...

I dont do pick up lines. The women who interest me are too intelligent to fall for them.

The best I ever heard was from Naemanson. We were looking for a Mudcatter he had never met before. He chose every sweet young, walked up to each and said "I am looking for a woman I have never met...are you her?" Some blushed and giggled; some looked around for help. Great line.

Kendall, Even the intelligent ones enjoy a well thought out pick-up line. And walking around with a stack of autographed CDs and a guitar slung rakishly over your shoulder counts as one.
SINS - running for cover.

When introducing myself to a young attractive lady several eons ago, she rudely told me to get lost. Now I look back and wished I would have said "Don't be picky as you can see that I'm not"!

The WORST one I ever heard was a truckstop. A trucker actually said to the waitress "You on the menu honey?"

Needless to say he was left alone with his rig. (No pun intended.)

I like the plain old, "A-one, two, a-one two three four." That sets the tempo and all the musicians can come in at the same time.

Or is that not what you meant?

I once told someone "Forgive me for saying this, and of course it is going to sound ridiculous, but I have to tell you, you are the most devastatingly handsome man I have ever seen."

And he was.

And it worked.

Sins, you are exaggerating! I only used that line on one woman and she knew it wasn't a pick up line because you were with me and we were at the bus station! But it is a good line though. I need to keep it in mind for the next lovely woman I meet.

While at my class in Washington there was a young lady who was easily one of the most beautiful women I have ever had the pleasure to meet. She is in her twenties and hispanic and absolutely beautiful. I felt compelled to tell her so. During a break I sat down next to her and quietly explained I was now going to embarrass her and then proceeded to tell her how pretty she was. She blushed and even that was lovely, took it in stride and we were good friends for the duration of the class. Ah, if I were 20 years younger I would move to Washington just to pursue that woman.

From my (albeit limited) experience:

After a few (several) too many drinks, it's too late for her to get the train home, so she books a room for the night in the hotel where we've all been drinking.

When the rest are off playing pool or something, I ask her if she'd mind my coming back to her room, to talk

After the inevitable 'don't think so,' my next line is:

'Please'

Doesn't sound much, but we've been together ever since!

Subject: RE: Favorite Pickup Line
From: Naemanson

Well, Peg, if you insist on conforming to the norms of the crowd I guess that is your personal decision. *Grin*

Actually I think men resort to pickup lines more than women because men do not need to be persuaded. A man using a pick up line is trying to start the process that might get him laid. A woman using a pickup line would probably not be able to finish the sentence before the guy agreed to sleep with her. There is some kind of fundamental difference at work here.

"Hi, sailor, new in town?" is the proverbial line. Doesn't take much to get a man's attention.

Subject: RE: Favorite Pickup Line

Further to Naemanson's comments, I think too the differences and requirements regarding seduction can be summed up as follows :-)

Women require: an attractive and hygenic man; a good sense of humor; rapport; decent teeth; a nice dinner; a good listener and empathizer; something that sets them apart as unique and interesting; strong and dependable; the ability to play an F chord (with thumb even better);

Men require: A pulse.

Sorry, but as far as I'm concerned, people who use chat up lines are just desperate, and if any guy even tried to use one on me, especially one as cheesy as they are on here, he is likely to get a slap and then get told, in no uncertain terms, to go away!

I've actually got a few put down lines for lads who try chatting me up, for example if a guy says to me "Here's 20p. Phone your mum and tell her you're not going home tonight", I'll just turn round and say "Here's £1. Go and buy some breath freshener!". Another one is "I'm only into short term relationships. Oh, sorry, your time's up!". That last one is a complete and utter lie though! I prefer long term boyfriends. Sometimes, though, if I'm not interested, I'll lie and say I've got a boyfriend.

Many years ago when I was young and lovely a bloke at work asked me if I lived in a house with a tin roof - I replied "no, why?" - he said "I like to lie in bed and listen to the rain on a tin roof" (it was raining at the time). I thought it was original so I smiled when I said no.........ah, them were the days!
Cheers

at the last festival I attended a girl approached me and asked where I was from and if I knew any places to go skinny dipping in the area. I wondered whether or not there was a missed opportunity.

but to address the differences mentioned above. biologically women are choosy, for the simple reason that having a child is a longer commitment. in a university survey when a volunteer researcher (female) approached a male and asked if he would be interested in sleeping with her almost 90% (or so) said yes, the remaining thanked her and said they were in a relationship (but theyd take a rain check) conversely when a male research approached a female and asked the same answer 100% responded with a resounding NO.

What women want men to do to show they are interested:

Make or buy a romantic dinner with candlelight and flowers, treat her with respect and love, whisper sweetly the words that mean so much, the small talk of love.

What men want women to do to show they are interested:

Show up naked and bring beer.

The correct response to "What's a nice girl like you doing in a place like this?" is, of course, "Breathing." Those who ask, "How did a nice girl like you end up in a place like this" should be told, "Just lucky, I guess."
