BS: Please help me find an old thread

Subject: Help me find an old thread, please
From: GUEST,Ian

It's not so much the thread I'm after but a particular message, and the link contained therein.

It was a thread about the US election debacle, chads etc.

Someone (Catspaw49 maybe) posted a link to a real audio song which used the tune of Bob Dylan's 'Don't Think Twice' to make some nice comments on the voting process.

I'd love to find it again

Thank you, and peace to you all

Ian

Do you have any idea how long ago?

If you put "bush" in the search box for thread title and set the time to 1 year, there are a ton of threads which come up about him, from just before the election on. You could search them from there.

If you think it was Catspaw49, you can click on his name in any thread and it will popup all of his postings.

Thanks Kat,

I tried using the search facility to search for catspaw49 but there are too many to read them all

Uh huh and you want us to, instead?*big grin* (no offense)

If you go to the Quick Links and look at the drop down menu, you can choose Forum Search, put in Catspaw's name and enter the subject, i.e. chads or bush, then hit go. What I do, because he's been as prolific a poster as me, is I hit the Stop up at the top of my browser after it has loaded about halfway; it takes a minute but it will stop and you should get enough of a listing of his messages that you could find it.

Hopefully he, or whoever posted it, will remember and let you know where it is, though.:-)

Thanks Kat,

I didn't know that there was a different search on the forum

Still didn't find it!

I wasn't suggesting that you should do it for me, but I'm not here that often and some of you know your way around better than me

Thanks anyway

Ian

Oh, Ian, I was just teasing a little. Sorry and please don't get discouraged. Someone will remember and find it for you. I'll send Spaw a PM and ask him to take a look, just in case it was him.

All the best,

kat

But there were so many threads on that, and threads on other things which drifted into talking about it.

Here's Tricky Dickie's Revenge, one thread with a couple of songs in it (one of them by me) - but not the one you are after.

Putting Bush, or for that matter Gore, into a search engine threatens to come up with all kinds of irrelevant stuff, like Border Ballads, where both words are quite common. Chad might be better I imagine.

EUREKA - I've just found it (having entered "dinmpled chad" in the search engine and found a thread called "Punch it Twice it's all right", and it was catspaw posted the words. And here they are

That's the one!

Many thanks McGrath

I do remember a real audio link to a version of it, but I expect it's long expired.

Having the lyrics is good though

Thanks again

Ian

5.17 to 6.23, and spread out across at least two continents. The Mudcat is still quite a nifty operation sometimes, whatever they say about the Good Old Days.
