From: Jeri

John Ball, (or is it John Bull?) written by Sydney Carter and removed from the DT at his request, so we don't have the words. Does the song go something like this:

Who will be the lady,
Who will be the lord,
When we are ruled
By the love of another? Tell me,
Who will be the lady,
Who will be the lord,
In the light that is coming
In the morning.

Chorus
Sing, John Ball
And tell it to them all -
Long live the day that is dawning!
And I'll crow like a cock,
I'll carol like a lark,
For the light that is coming
In the morning.
Eve is the lady,
Adam is the lord,
When we are ruled
By the love of another, oh it's
Eve is the lady,
Adam is the lord,
In the light that is coming
In the morning.

Chorus

All shall be ruled
By fellowship I say,
All shall be ruled
By the love of one another,
All shall be ruled
By fellowship I say,
In the light that is coming
In the morning.

Chorus

Labour and spin
For fellowship I say,
Labour and spin
For the love of one another.
Labour and spin
For fellowship I say,
And the light that is coming
In the morning.

Chorus (3x)

Subject: Lyr add: ONE OF THOSE SONGS^^

It reminded me of this song

ONE OF THOSE SONGS
(Le Bal De Madame De Mortemouille)
English Lyric by Will Holt
Music by Gerard Calvi

Chorus
Well this is one of those songs that you hear now and then,
You don't know just where, you don't know just when,
It's one of those songs that are over and then,
It's one of those songs that start playing again.

Yes, it's just one of those songs that you hear for a while,
That come into fashion and go out of style,
It's one of those songs that you think you forgot,
But it's one of those songs you cannot!

Because it's one of those songs that can make you recall
A ride in the sprinttime, a walk in the fall,
A day in the country, a night on the town,
The sun coming up or the rain coming down.

Or else the evening you parted, the morning you met,
The love of your life you can never forget,
The reason is simple, the memory belongs,
To one of those wonderful songs!

Well, this is one of those songs that's so easy to hear,
You listen just once, then you play it by ear,
It's hummed on verandas, and strummed on guitars,
And all you remember is Lah-dee-dah-dah!

But later on you'll recall it in some other year,
You may start to smile or you may shed a tear,
You'll find that one part of your lifetime belongs
To one of those wonderful songs!

Daystar, if the author of a song requests that it be removed, it is.

Copyright protection is what gives a songwriter a little bit of money from the sale of recordings or performances of songs.

You might want to search on the Mudcat Forum on the word Copyright. Really an eyeopener.

Anyway, backto yurr questin. IF an author requests their song be removed, it is. IF not copyright police (aka HArry Fox Agency) could take Max to court and confiscate the computers which the DT database. Rather than do that, Max and the DT complies with any request by a songwriter to have his/her song(s) deleted from the DT.
