Lyr Req: the sausage song

looking for words to The Sausage Song, a kids song about a fox & a sausage who lived together in the forest. Last line is
    "The ways of the world are the ways of the world, even in the deep forest."
I heard it from Sorrels or maybe Redpath in Boston in the 60's.

I haven't found it yet. Any more specifics to help narrow it down? Seems like there are a lot more "sausage songs" than I figured!

Finally - the Sausage Song in question seems to be a song version taken from Chapter 4 of
The Wonder Clock
or four and twenty marvellous Tales,
being one for each hour of the day;
written & illustrated
By Howard Pyle.

I am fairly sure that the Sam Sherry 'Sausage Song' is a different one to that requested , being more of a 'Music Hall' piece than a children's song .

I once wrote a song about a sausage - a big red one, a poloney in fact.

Just thought - if anybody's in need a sausage song - I will sing it. I do requests.

I've heard Gavin Atkin sing "I wish I was a sausage".
