Thanks for that info, the radio was far beter than the TV, I've been waiting for the opportunity to tape it. Pity Douglas Adams had to pass on for it to happen.

We even had broadcasts of the program here on this side of the pond, some years back. I never laughed so hard in my life.

We've had it more than once. I first heard it running every Saturday morning on Minnesota Public Radio. It has to be +17 years ago. More recently our upstate New York PR station was running it on Sunday evenings about a year ago.

In addition to the 4 books, the The Radio Scripts were also published as a book.

I'm trying to get recordings of this for my son's birthday in early October. Are they for sale anywhere?

It was a bestseller for BBCWorldwide in 1999, but I cannot seem to find it in their online catalog. It has to be around somewhere

There were mp3's of it floating around napster not so long ago. Good quality rips, too.

HHGTTG - ah! my very own ego trip!!!

Radio and book - what was it a trilogy with five books!!

Should never have been done as a TV show.

Thanks for the link, Roger, but I don't quite understand the difference between some of the offerings. "primary phase, secondary phase..." are those difference episodes? I'd definitely be interested in negotiating with any member of the Mudcat masses who would like to help me out here...

Whilst waiting for your episode why not visit Mudcats in Space to pass the time!

Animaterra I didn't understand either, but I think its just like part one and two. Which did you want cassette or CD?

If I recall, the HHGTG was originally broadcast as two six part series, I presume that these are the two phases quoted.

By the bye, did anyone else out there see the stage play?

I'd not realised quite how many phrases in current usage came from HHGTTG, until I heard the first episode again this evening.

Wonderful stuff.

Well, I enjoyed the TV series (AND the books and radio versions.) No sign yet of the TV version being re-run though.

KitKat,

Where are you based? Auntie Beeb repeated the TV series on BBC2 (late-ish IIRC) over two weeks soon after Adams' death.
