Didn't find the lyrics, but this site has a cassette for sale with that "song" on it.........."song" usually means lyrics whereas "tune" does not.

I don't know the tune, do you have a way to post it, Louie?

Sorcha,

A google user I perceive!

I found that page too. My best guess was that the shared title was a coincidence, so I didn't post.

In terms of Louie's question, the lack of matches on numerous search engines makes me think that 'no, there are no lyrics'

But I have been wrong before...

Somebody (50's-60's??) did a song about prison walls--Johnny Cash, or somebody like that? Also, seems like there is a hymn with "no prison walls" in it......it's ringing faint bells here but not sure if it is the song requested.

Thanks Sorcha for your speedy response.I emailed the web site and if they indeed do have the song I will purchase it and post the lyrics. The only way I have to post the tune is it being played on a fiddle and I lack the knowledge to do this. Thanks again Louie Roy

Louie Roy,

You're not by chance thinking of

If I had the wings of an angel
Over these prison walls I would fly

are you?

That one's in the Digitrad as "The Prisoner's Song," recorded by Vernon Dalhart in 1924.

Lin

Thanks to all of you for giving me the info on the song Prison Without Any Walls and I promised if I found the tune I would post.I hope you enjoy the lyrics as much as I do
Prison Without Any Walls
ADD

I don't need chains to bind
To tell me I'm not free
I'm in a prison without any walls
I'm living in memories
Of a love that used to be
I'm in a prison without any walls

I come and go but still I know
I'll never break away
But you will find my heart is tied
To grief of yesterday
Until you bring back your love sweetheart
There's no escape for me
I'm in a prison without any walls

You close the door with no goodbye
That tells me night and day
I'm in a prison without any walls
Can loving you be such a crime
That I should have to stay
I'm in a prison without any walls

I tell myself I don't love you
I'll find another love
But when I look at someone else
It's you I'm thinking of
How much sweetheart you must decide
I can't go on this way
I'm in a prison without any walls
REPEAT
How much sweetheart you must decide
I can't go on this way
I'm in a prison without any walls

Written and sung by Casey Moore
I wished I knew how to furnish the tune but that is out of my knowledge.Louie Roy
