Hi all,
My good Friend Tony and I were talking about great songs the other day, he said The Bonzo Dog Do Da Band did a song called The Equestrian Statue, which he thought was great, and he could only remember a bit of it, can anybody supply me with the words to put him out of his misery?
Cheers,
Lucy

....& a very amusing song it is too!

.....though mine, & I suspect many people's favourite(s) is/are 'Intro, Outro', 'Mr Slaters Parrot', or 'Huntin Tigers'

Tony will be delighted, He suspected it was a Neil Innes song, (but I couldn't remember who he said 'till I saw the name! - too may beers!) Cheers,
Lucy

I think I prefer "Look Out, There's a Monster Coming".

========================================================

THE EQUESTRIAN STATUE
Neil Innes

There once was a very famous man
On his famous horse he'd ride through the land
The people used to see him everywhere
When he died, they put a statue in the square

(hooray)

Here comes the Equestrian Statue
Prancing up and down the square
Little old ladies stop 'n' say
"Well, I declare!"

Once a month on a Friday there's a man
With a mop and bucket in his hand
To him it's just another working day
So he whistles as he rubs and scrubs away

(hooray)

Here comes the Equestrian Statue
Prancing up and down the square
Little old ladies stop 'n' say
"Well, I declare!"

It's a sight to bring you joy, you feel so gay
And it's guaranteed to brighten up your day
If it's gray

(hooray)

Here comes the Equestrian Statue
Prancing up and down the square
Little old ladies stop 'n' say
"Well, I declare!"

It's a sight to bring you joy, you feel so gay
And it's guaranteed to brighten up your day
If it's gray

Feel so gay
Feel so gay
Feel so gay
Feel so gay
Feel so gay
