02 Sep 01 - 02:38 PM (#540305) Subject: Looking for Crash Space in Boston From: Naemanson I will be singing with the chanty cruise crew at the Boston Folk Festival on Saturday, September 22, and would like to stay overnight so I can go to the festival on Sunday. Is there anyone interested in putting up (with) a crazy chanty singer? |

14 Sep 01 - 02:21 PM (#550140) Subject: RE: Looking for Crash Space in Boston From: Naemanson This gets a little complicated but the only alternative is a simple statement that I won't be going to Boston because of the crisis. Somehow that would seem to convey that I've suffered a loss and I haven't any more than my fellow onlookers and sufferers. This is the end of our Fiscal Year (US Gov't) and usually it is the worst of times for us. This year some yahoo planned for an air show on September 22 and 23. They expected the air show to draw 160,000 people to the base which means I could not work that weekend. Then they scheduled a base wide power outage for September 29! THEN the WTC/Pentagon tragedy and subsequent crisis closed our base for two days and resulted in closure of the base for two days. The end result is that I will have to work next weekend and will not make it to the Boston Folk Festival. I would try to make some hunerous comment but I just don't have the heart... |
