HAPPY BIRTHDAY HELEN!

Mudcatter HelenJ is threescore and ten (70!) on Thursday September 13th!

(HelenJ is JohnJ's mum, BTW)

To mark this auspicious occasion, we have already had a major celebration at the Railway Folk Club, and a surprise party at daughter Elaine's last night (Saturday).

Both 'do's' were a wonderful testament to the great respect all yer mates have for you, Helen!

Lots of love,

Bernard

P.S. Noreen - what does one have to sacrafice to be blessed with a voice like that? Your presence last night delighted all present but most of all myself. Thanks so much for coming. Bernard thought you looked really well by the way. Hope to see you soon at the 'Jolly' but would be thrilled if you would deign to attend the Railway - you'd knock 'em sideways. They wouldn't know what had hit them - CLASS. lLove, HelenJ. Most present were Railway people BTW.

Helen, this is your thread, stop making me blush! It was lovely to be part of your birthday celebrations, and to meet more of your family and friends. A very happy birthday for Thursday, and many more!

I would love to see you all at the Railway; hope to make it soon. Thanks for making me so welcome!

Noreen

What a fitting end to your 70th birthday celebrations! Martin Carthy and Dave Swarbrick in concert at the Railway!

We had an audience of 110, with sardines outside looking through the windows and laughing!

They were on top form - Swarbrick's infirmity hasn't affected the fire of his playing...

Wonder if they'll be around for my 70th?

Well, Whyvonne, we finally get to cut (and eat!) the cake this coming Thursday!

Glad to see you're back online after the dreaded viruses!

I was round at Helen's this affo, returning her (fixed) melodeon. Don's got the cake at the moment, so we just have to hope he and Heather don't get hungry...!!
