Hi, John - you can also find many of the Child Ballads in the Digital Tradition by using our Digitrad and Forum Search on the Forum Menu page. Put Child #xxx in the search box (substitute the number 1 through 305 for the "xxx." I can't figure out how to make a link that will perform a complete search.

The Libray of Congress published a 2-LP set Child Ballads Traditional in the United States in 1959, edited by Bertrand Harris Bronson. Liner notes with all the lyrics transcribed can be read here. See Images 4-23. This may be a good introduction.
