15 Sep 01 - 07:33 AM (#550676) Subject: Portsmouth NH maritime fest 01 From: AllisonA(Animaterra) I need music and being with musicians, and am thinking of finding a b&b in Portsmouth for the 29th and going to the festival. I know Finn&Haddie will be there. Any other Mudcatters going? |

Performers, schedules, maps & directions, can be found at the Folk Horizons website. New: the privateer Lynx won't be there, and the pier won't be used as a workshop location. (I believe they're trying to move the scheduled events somewhere else.) |

15 Sep 01 - 08:44 AM (#550686) Subject: RE: Portsmouth NY maritime fest 01 From: Bat Goddess Jeri, you beat me to it. I was just about to post the website when my computer froze. Curmudgeon and I will be leading a sing-around session at The Coat of Arms Pub on the Sunday afternoon of the festival. Other festival performers will be rotating through the session, if it's organized as it was when we did it last year. Naemanson, Charlie...is it confirmed that Roll and Go is performing? 15 Sep 01 - 09:33 AM (#550701) Subject: RE: Portsmouth NH maritime fest 01 From: Charley Noble Bat Goddess - Roll & Go is on the program but I'm not sure when and where we'll be performing now that they're striking the Lynx. We are flexible. If the organizers want us to set up on the old lower bridge, we'll be there. I'll be talking to Jeff Warner tommorow at Bill Bonyun's memorial service at the Chocolate Church in Bath; you and others may want to check the related thread. |

15 Sep 01 - 10:47 AM (#550738) Subject: RE: Portsmouth NH maritime fest 01 From: DebC We are really trying to get people to come out to this event, and like all festivals that are just starting, to make it grow every year. Please tell all your friends and spread the word. This is going to be a lot of fun for everyone. Debra |

15 Sep 01 - 04:50 PM (#550966) Subject: RE: Portsmouth NH maritime fest 01 From: Jeri I don't know if there ARE any inexpensive places to stay. I still don't have room for guests, plus I live about 45 minutes away, plus, I'm not entirely sure I'll see my home much during the weekend. I'll be at the table selling performers' recordings. Please say hi. Attendance last year was very sparse, but it was only the first festival. It was also a very wonderful one.
For those who haven't peeked at the website, the performers include: Please note that ALL events EXCEPT the Sat night concert ($12) are FREE!!!

16 Sep 01 - 08:09 PM (#551911) Subject: RE: Portsmouth NH maritime fest 01 From: Charley Noble Just talked with one of the festival organizers, Jeff Warner. The new tall ship Lynx can't come as expected because the U.S. Coast Guard doesn't have the time now to certify her for sailing. Well, that's sad but fully understandable. We should plan a follow-up festival in Rockport, Maine, and cheer up the crew. |
