I've heard a song that begins "Throw another log on the fire, fry me up some bacon and some beans" etc. But I don't know the title or source. Can anybody help?

You'll beat me to it, Kendall. I went looking in Cowpie (no luck) for a link and it would take me a while to sing it to myself a few times to remember all the works. Fun tune by Moe Bandy and Joe Stampley.

Actually, the original was sung by Tompall Glaser off the Waylon Jennings/Willie Nelson/Tompall Glaser/Jessi Coulter album Wanted: The Outlaws. It was written by Shel Silverstein.

G
Put another log on the fire
D
Cook me up some bacon & some beans

And go out to the car & change the tire
G
Wash my socks and blow my old blue jeans

Come on baby you can fill my pipe & then go fetch my slippers

C
And boil me up another pot of tea

G
Then put another log on the fire babe

D G
And come & tell me why you're leaving me

inst...........

Now don't I let you wash the car on Sunday
And don't I warn you when you're gettin fat
Ain't I a gonna take you fishin' with me someday
Well a man can't love a woman more than that
And ain't I always nice to your kid sister
Don't I take her driving every night
So sit here at my feet cause I like you when you're sweet
And you know it ain't feminine to fight

So put another log on the fire
Cook me up some bacon & some beans
Go out to to the car & lift it up & change the tire
Wash my socks & sew my old blue jeans
Come on baby you can fill my pipe & then go fetch my slippers
And boil me up another pot of tea
Then put another log on the fire babe
And come & tell me why you're leaving me

I put linebreaks where I think they should be, if it is messed up would a Joe Clone please help?

Throw another log on the fire.
Cook me up some bacon and some beans.
Go out to the car and change the tire.
Darn my socks and mend my old blue jeans.

Come on, baby, you can fill my pipe and then
Go fetch my slippers, brew me up another pot of tea.
Throw another log on the fire, babe.
Come and tell me why you're leaving me.

Don't I let you wash the car on Sunday?
Don't I warn you when you're gettin' fat?
Ain't I gonna take you fishing with me someday?
Man can't love a woman more than that.

Ain't I always kind to your kid sister?
Don't I take her driving every night?
Come sit here by my feet, 'cause I love you when you're sweet,
You know it ain't feminine to fight,

Throw another...etc.

Evidently the chord notations didn't align properly, but you get the idea. I found it by typing the title into Cowpie search. One could go there if the chords are needed.

NOt a waste of time, really. The Cowpie version has some differences from the one you posted. Good for comparison...Both our versions went in at 6:41, and the two subsequent posts were both at 6:44. Sorry if I upset ya! It was not intentional!

Put Another Log on the Fire is in Digitrad. Computers are literal--titles are variable. You can find it with a search for [log on the fire].

Dick...first you tell 'em what you're gonna tell 'em...then you tell 'em....then you tell 'em you told 'em.

and then they'll STILL search on title variations. *grin*..( I wish I had a list of all the threads where Dick has made the point about computers in 4 years)

Dick, love, look at this way. At least you know you're needed.

Banjer - we all know what you are up to. Just yesterday Rick posted a list of requirements for getting into the Mudcat Clique. Right up there in the top ten was "Pick a fight with Kendall" Shame on you. Blatant toadying!
