Greetings all... Does anyone have the words to the song by Neil Young (I think) that I believe is titled "Heart Of Gold"... It begins (if memory serves me) : "I wanna live, I wanna give, I've been a miner for a heart of gold... It's these expressions I have to give, that keeps me lookin' for a heart of gold... and I'm gettin' old..." Thank you.... Barb

Quite how people are able to find this site, navigate well enough to post a message, have managed to set up a hotmail account etc, but have never managed to find and use a search engine astonishes me.

Maybe I'm mean

Guest, you might very well be a little mean. I think its best not to be too judgemental.

I got the above from a Dogpile search after verifying it wasn't in the DT (and no, it wasn't too difficult). So, if the Joe Clones want to add it later, here it is.

Peace to you.

Ed

Ed, I put <pre> tags on your lyrics to separate the chords, but it still doesn't look quite right. Hope it's at least better than it was.

Since Mudcat is a prime supporter of the Neil Young Center for the Terminally Screwed, it seems only appropriate that Neil Young lyrics be posted here upon request. I note that there is not one single Neil Young song in the Digital Tradition, and perhaps that's the way it should be.

I get a lot of pleasure out of answering lyrics requests, even when the lyrics are relatively easy to find. It has given me the chance to acquaint myself with a number of songs I didn't know as well as I thought I did. I don't know why some people aren't able to search a little better than they do, but they aren't. Most people I know seem totally lost when it comes to researching things. I'm good at it, and I like to be able to do it for them - but I do find it hard to understand why it's so difficult for them. It just is.

Joe and Ed,

I'm sorry. I guess about 90% of the answers to lyric requests, answered by a 'GUEST' are posted by me. I enjoy the search challenge too.

Sometimes I get a bit cranky and get annoyed.

Apologies

The non-flaming guest, who just doesn't want a name here.

Accepted non-flaming guest (Hey! How bout you being NFGuest?)! Thanks for answering other lyric requests. Mudcat is an excellent forum and I don't want to turn a newcomer off.

Joe, I did figure Spaw's affintiy for everything Neil would result in more lyrics, but he's too busy stirring the pot. Thanks for the edits.

Ed

All this inspired me to put on Young's Decade, on of my favorite anthologies. His songs aren't within my range and style, but I sure like to listen to him.

Why friends, I'll have you know that it's the royalties and money from this very song that allowed Neil to help fund the wonderful institution that bears his name, the Neil Young Center for the Terminally Screwed. I thought it was wonderful that Dr. Smegma was able to pump neil full of enough stuff to allow him to perform the other night on the WTC Telethon. Those of you watching at the end probably noticed that the drugs were wearing off as Neil was tromping around the stage and seemingly having an orgasm with his Martin. This is highly unusual as Neil generally reserves such things for his Les Paul and hence is indicative of just how far over the edge he has gone.

Well, yes indeed, it did seem the drugs were wearing off as Neil pumped up and down on his guitar as the other performers all smiled nervously and tried to move away...

I also got a big kick out of his calliope number; not that there's a lot of volume control, but wasn't it a little loud relative to the vocals?
