This is not from the recent tune...it's an old,old 4-H song. I'm trying to find out who wrote it, and when.

(I'm singing) 'Cause there's a place in the sun
Where there's hope for ev'ryone
Where my poor restless heart's gotta run
There's a place in the sun
And before my life is done
Got to fine me a place in the sun

It's Stevie Wonder's "A Place in the Sun" (written by Ronald Miller & Bryan Wells). I like it.

Nope, by "old," I mean OLD! LIKE WWI OR WWII:

"There's a place in the sun for everyone to grow,
you should know all about it..
there is love in the hearts of everyone to show,
you should never doubt it(etc)

(Incidentally, have you ever noticed how songs with the same message keep coming around, just differentlyrics and different artists?)

Mary Lou, try going to Google (www.google.com) and enter a line of the lyrics into the box there. If the song is posted on the internet, it should come up.

There's a place in the sun for everyone to grow, you should know all about it.
There is love in the hearts of everyone for you if you're true, never doubt it.
And that will aid in the plans that you made if you're not afraid to try
Plans to return all the things that you earn
If you're wise and you're fair and you're just

Oh give me a place in the sun
With the clear blue sky above
On a day that sings of the growing things and the full, free life I love
Oh give me a place in the sun
With the warm sweet earth below
Where the fields are clean with the living green that my hands have made to grow
Here's a health to the land that my head and hands and heart have learned to know
