01 Oct 01 - 04:54 PM (#562821) Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday, Curmudgeon! From: Naemanson Damn! I wish I had read this thread BEFORE Portsmouth. I'd have led a rousing chorus of Happy Birthday at the Coat Of Arms! I'm sure everyone would have joined in. Happy Birthday, Tom. Sorry I didn't know to say it on your birthday. |
02 Oct 01 - 04:06 PM (#563635) Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday, Curmudgeon! From: curmudgeon Many thanks to all of you well-wishers. I have not yet had the perfect opportunity for the Single Malt; I'm still recovering from a weekend of too much music and fun, and i do like to carefully savour the Laphroaig. Don't worry Jeri, you'll have ample opportunity. And Naemanson, it is a good thing that you were unaware on Sunday, for if you had offered up the song you mentioned, I would have been sorely tempted to do unto you what Jack Tar did to the landlady. It's not the sentiment mind you, but rather the "song" which I rate lower than the world's worst possible rendition of "Lady of Spain." But enough of this rant. Thanks again! Good Songs to All -- Tom |
03 Oct 01 - 10:23 AM (#564190) Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday, Curmudgeon! From: Bat Goddess Besides, "that song" is still under copyright and then, since it was a public performance and all, Roll and Go would have had to pay royalties, and, considering the copyright holder's past performance, you'd probably get sued and, even though there was a lawyer (Canadian) in attendance, well, it all would have gotten pretty nasty. So we'll just skip it and do a chorus of "Happy B.D." to the tune of the "Halleluyah Chorus" and be done with it! (Tom had a great day -- so did I.) Bat Goddess |
